A Municipal Water Treatment Plant contacted IFM for help with their existing iron filters. They previously had Dualator Iron Removal Units installed and they wanted these tanks re-bedded. IFM de-bedded the current tanks that they had by using a hydrovac truck and removing all of the spent media and gravel and disposing of it. IFM then re-bedded these tanks with support gravel, sand and anthracite. Prior to installing the new media into the tanks, IFM completed sieve analysis of the media to ensure that all virgin materials were being placed into the vessels and that the media met the OEPA standards.
Once all of the media was installed, it was backwashed, disinfected and then a Total Coliform sample was collected and tested for submittal to the OEPA. When the test results came back as negative, IFM helped the city put the filter back online for use.
