PORTABLE REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM FOR A MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Industrial Fluid Management

A manufacturing facility’s current reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment system was not providing the quality of water necessary for their daily manufacturing. As a result, IFM was asked to create a treatment system capable of producing high-quality water while possessing the ability to be installed without the interruption of the facility’s daily processes.

Within three days, a portable storage trailer was converted into a water treatment system capable of being transported at the owner’s convenience. The trailer utilized a series of carbon pretreatment filters as well as water softeners leading to an RO system consisting of (4) 8” DOW FILMTECTM membranes with a removal efficiency of 98.5% and an 80% recovery.

The portable nature of the trailer provided for a very quick and easy hookup, with easily accessible feed and permeate connections mounted to the outside of the trailer body. Once connections have been made, the operator’s job is very minimal with the entire system being fully automated.
